IWAU Uprising 12-31-19 Results and Friday Night Main Event Preview

UPRISING RESULTS:

In a wild night of action at the “go home” Uprising event, many of the IWAU Stars raised the stakes for this Friday’s Main Event.

Mara Qilin surprised many when she won the IWAU Club Championship last month from Shank Barzini. Since then Shank has made a habit of disrupting Qilin’s life. This past Tuesday was no different. Nikki Driftwood brought her talents to the ring to challenge for the Club Title. Unfortunately, the action was cut short as Shank interfered and the ref had no other option but to call for the bell. Mara won by disqualification and retained her title. Afterward, Shank grabbed a mike and vowed that no woman would ever hold the Club title again.

In another shocking moment Tuesday night, The Real Monster Jason Tiller was set to do battle with disgraced former General Manager Kyle Pipher. Tiller is still claiming that Pipher owes him money following their brief partnership. Tiller made some threats over the mic before Pipher told him that he had a surprise in store for the monster mercenary. In a shocking move, Matt Maverick made his grand return after being laid to waste by Tiller and Blaine Black this summer. Pipher said that he’d hired Maverick to take out Tiller once and for all. The drama however was short lived as Dexter Roswell revealed that Pipher had a zero balance in his bank account. After that Maverick and Tiller teamed up and left Pipher laying on the mat. However, that didn’t stop him from challenging Tiller and Roswell to a match this Friday.

In the main event, IWAU Uprising Champion Tanner Keeler set out to prove once again that he was the best wrestler in the company. With no intent of actually doing anything other than show off his prowess, he and former champ Joey O’Riley squared off. Following two, five-minute, non-title matches that both went to time limit draws, IWAU Owner Josh Totten said that the IWAU Faithful deserved better than this for their main event every week and ordered the match to go until one of the competitors definitively won. O’Riley capitalized on the distraction and Keeler’s child-like rage to hit his famouser and steal the win.

In other action:

  • Dexter Roswell def. B-Rad with a headlock driver
  • Charlie Catt and Johnny Echo Def. Bo Sawyer and Shank Barzini via DQ after Sawyer continued to use closed fist strikes after being warned.

IWAU Friday Night Main Event Preview:

While the card May change, here are the major matches we’re aware of at this time.

  • Joey O’Riley challenges Tanner Keeler for the IWAU Uprising Championship in a match with no time limit.
  • Mara Qilin defends her IWAU Club Championship against Shank Barzini and Nikki Driftwood in at triple threat match.
  • Kyle Pipher takes on Jason Tiller and Dexter Roswell in a handicap match.

O’Riley vs. Keeler – With no time limit to hide behind, Keeler will look to end this match quickly, so look for him to try and get the upper hand early and utilize his amateur background to gain the leverage over O’Riley. And make no mistake about it, Joey is a skilled wrestler, but Keeler has the edge in both size and pure strength. O’Riley will need to use his speed and avoid the power moves. Without the safety net of the time limit, Keeler will be dangerous, but O’Riley is no stranger to a challenge.

Qilin Vs. Driftwood Vs. Barzini – A trail of destruction. If Barzini has his way, that’s what he’ll leave. He’s proven that he has no qualms about laying waste to whoever stand in his way, man or woman. If Qilin hopes to retain her title, she’s going to have to reach deep into her bag of trick and also her very soul. The wrench in the cogs for this match is going to be Driftwood. Relatively new to the scene, she potentially brings something the IWAU faithful haven’t seen to the table along with the potential to turn this match on its ear. However, if either of them hope beat Barzini, Driftwood and Qilin are going to have to get creative.

Pipher vs. Tiller and Roswell – Pipher made a surprisingly bold move Tuesday when he challenged Tiller and Roswell to a handicap match. Now, he’s going to have to back up his word and that won’t be an easy task. Tiller has been on a tare for the last few months and it seems like he can’t be stopped. And now that he’s aligned himself with someone as politically powerful as Roswell, the atrocities he can get away with now might just be insurmountable. Roswell is no slouch in the ring either – he was responsible for much of the carnage at War Games a couple months back. Pipher may very well need a miracle, because he’s definitely doesn’t have the votes.
